Should The Vetting Process Include Social Media Checks?

Hi all,

I’ve been thinking about the vetting process described on Your Psychic Review, especially how they select and approve psychics listed on the site. While the guides mention things like experience and customer feedback on the platform, I wonder if adding social media checks would make the vetting stronger.

For example, many psychics have Facebook pages or Instagram profiles where they post updates or share reviews from clients. This could give extra insight into their authenticity and consistency over time, beyond just platform-based ratings. But I also get that social media can be curated or fake, so it might not be foolproof.

As a tarot reader myself, I know how easily intentions and reputations can be misinterpreted online. Still, would adding this step help filter out scammers or misleading readers more effectively? Or would it be too invasive or unreliable?

I appreciate the balance Your Psychic Review tries to hold and would love to hear your thoughts! Especially curious if anyone here has seen social media checks done well or poorly in psychic vetting.

I notice a lot of the vetting info is about policies and how support responds. Adding social media does make sense but might complicate things.

Not sure if they have resources to monitor all that though.

Here’s how I see it:

1) Social media can show more recent and diverse feedback, which is useful.
2) But it’s also a lot to verify and could be faked or paid for.
3) The vetting team would need clear rules for what counts as valid evidence there.
4) It might also raise privacy concerns with the psychics themselves.

Overall, I think it’s a good idea if done carefully and with proper guidelines. Maybe it could be a complementary check rather than a main one?

Hello everyone!

I love that this community cares about making psychic readings safer and more trustworthy. Social media could be a helpful tool for the vetting process, especially since so many psychics try to build a positive reputations there. But I worry about it turning into a witch-hunt where some profiles are misunderstood or judged harshly.

For me as a casual reader, seeing a psychic actively sharing their cards, spreads, or testimonials on Instagram gives me some comfort about their transparency. Sometimes I even find free mini-readings or Q&A sessions that help me get a feel for their style.

Still, vetting should respect that social media is just one part of a larger picture. A psychic might not post much online but still be very authentic and gifted. I think combining platform feedback, social media presence, and maybe even a short interview could make the vetting process more balanced and supportive.

yeah i think social media is a mixed bag. some psychics look great and active but it’s so easy to just post positive comments or even bots. also some don’t do social at all so it wouldnt catch everyone. mostly it’d just add more to check but might not stop the real scammers.

Thanks for the thoughtful posts! I’m feeling a bit nervous about trusting new psychics. Would social media checks really help me avoid getting tricked?

I agree that social media isn’t perfect but it’s like another layer of knowing the reader’s energy and authenticity for me.

So if I understand correctly:

– The current vetting checks experience and platform feedback
– Adding social media looks at the psychic’s broader presence
– That could help catch inconsistencies or scams?

But it might be hard to verify the quality of social media content?

Am I getting it right?

From a budget perspective, I worry extra vetting steps might increase service costs. Sometimes hidden fees come from more rigorous checks.

I usually limit myself to 15-20 minute readings capped at $30. If checking social media means needing more staff or tech, could prices go up? Just something to keep in mind for practical users like me.

Hi all,

I’m new here and reading this makes me a little less worried because I always wondered if online psychics are ‘real.’ The idea of social media checks sounds like a good idea to me if it means getting a bit more proof that the psychic is genuine and available to answer questions.

Sometimes I get anxious after a reading because I’m not sure if it was legit or if I got scammed. I guess seeing more about a psychic online could give reassurance, even if it’s just pictures or videos of them working, or client comments elsewhere.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It helps me understand what to look for when choosing a psychic now.

I want to add from my experience that social media is definitely a double-edged sword. I’ve followed a few psychics on Instagram who post readings daily, share cards like the Empress or the Tower, and offer live sessions for low rates. It felt very open and accessible.

But then I also saw some profiles where the handful of comments seemed generic or overly positive, possibly from bots or paid promos. It made me more skeptical about how trustworthy those could be. Without a way to audit the followers or verify who’s behind those accounts, it’s shaky.

I think vetting based on social media has potential but must be combined with solid on-site checks and direct feedback from clients here or on the platform itself. That way, there’s less chance of misleading impressions.

Sorry if this is a dumb question — what exactly is social media vetting? Is it like checking a psychic’s Facebook or Twitter to see if they have real reviews? Also, how is it different from the usual customer feedback already on the site?

I’m new to psychic readings and still learning the terms and what to look for. I appreciate all the advice here!

Social media checks are just another source of info. But honestly, no vetting is perfect.

If you want to avoid scams, follow these rules:
1) Stick to psychics with real client feedback on this or similar trusted platforms.
2) Don’t trust profiles with only glowing reviews and no negatives.
3) Cap your spending, test with small readings first.

Adding social media doesn’t guarantee safety, but it’s extra data. Treat it with caution, never rely on it alone.

Vetting should stay practical, not turn into a detective hunt.

In my experience, social media vetting can add value but shouldn’t replace traditional checks here and direct customer reviews.

Thanks everyone for the thoughtful discussion! I feel reassured that while social media checks aren’t perfect, they offer an additional window into the psychic’s consistency and character. Especially for those like me who appreciate seeing spreads and card symbolism posted regularly. Perhaps the best approach is a layered vetting combining platform feedback, social media presence, and respectful communication with readers.

I’d love to see Your Psychic Review consider adding a social media insight section in the future guides, even if just as optional info, so we can make more informed choices without losing the human and intuitive side of readings.
