Psychic asked for my credit card info before starting—normal?
I recently tried a chat reading on a lesser-known psychic platform, and the reader asked me for my credit card information before even starting the session. They said it was to ‘secure the session’ and ‘prevent interruptions,’ but I found it a bit unusual since I’ve always been charged after the reading or during the booking process. In my experience, most reputable psychics or platforms handle payment upfront through the website or app, not directly by the reader. Has anyone else encountered this? Is this a common practice in chat readings or should I be cautious here? I didn’t go through with the reading, and I’m wondering if I overreacted or if it’s a red flag to avoid that service altogether. Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I’m pretty new to online readings, and reading that the psychic asked for credit card details before starting sounds a bit scary to me. I mean, I was taught to only pay through official platforms or apps. It’s comforting to hear others say it’s unusual because I wasn’t sure if I was just being paranoid. Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope it’s a red flag and I haven’t made a mistake before!

I’ve been around a while, and the whole ‘secure the session’ line doesn’t add up for me. The part about payment handled ‘directly by the reader’ is where I’d put a question mark. If someone demands credit card info outside the official platform, it’s a red flag in my book. No reputable service should require you to hand over sensitive payment details in a chat before anything actually starts. That said, if you’ve got proof or a receipt later, that might change things, but without it? Stay cautious. What evidence do you have that it was a legitimate site?
