Is it normal for psychic chat readers to redirect to phone calls?

Hey everyone,

I recently signed up on a new psychic platform where they offered a free chat reading trial. I thought it was a nice chance to test the waters before paying. But almost immediately after starting, the psychic suggested switching over to a phone call, which would cost money. I wasn’t expecting that push so soon.

Is it normal for chat readers to redirect you to paid phone calls right away? Or should I be cautious about this tactic? Hoping some of you with more experience can share if this is common practice or if it’s a red flag. I want to avoid wasting money or getting pressured into something I’m not ready for.

I’ve run into this a couple of times myself, and I think it’s a mix of things going on. You said the psychic “suggested switching over to a phone call,” which made me feel like it was a bit quick, too.

From what I’ve noticed, some readers genuinely feel they can give a deeper, clearer reading over the phone rather than chat, especially with things like tarot or mediumship where tone and nuances matter.

But yeah, it also can feel pushy or like a sales tactic if they rush you. On a platform I use, the free chat usually lets you get a decent start first, then the psychic might mention the phone option later if you want it. If they’re asking almost immediately, that’s a bit awkward.

If you’re into tarot apps or longer chat sessions, maybe try other platforms where chat readings stay on chat unless you decide otherwise? I’d just be sure you feel comfortable with the reader before handing over card details or payment info. You’re definitely not alone in wondering about what’s normal here!
