I got a confusing three-card spread about my job—what do these cards mean?

Hi all,

I just tried a three-card career spread on a popular tarot app and pulled The Tower, Eight of Pentacles, and The Hermit. I’m not sure how to read this combination. The Tower suggests sudden change or disruption, which worries me. Yet, the Eight of Pentacles is usually about hard work and skill development, and The Hermit points to introspection or solitude.

Could this mean upcoming trouble at work, or maybe growth after a shake-up? I’m leaning practical and would appreciate if someone could break down these cards in order, and possibly how they interact. Also, if anybody has seen these cards come true in a career reading, that insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you’re stuck waiting but also distracted by many choices.

I’d say focus on one thing steadily instead of thinking about all options at once.

The Tower is tough but often clears the way. Eight of Pentacles is growth, and The Hermit means you’ll find answers inside. Sounds hopeful.

I’ve used tarot apps before and noticed the wording can be vague. The Tower can be scary, but does the app clarify if it’s short-term disruption or something longer? I’d also check their refund or support policies if a reading left you confused.

hey! just my two cents: the tower sucks at first, no doubt. i pulled it last thursday in a career reading and it meant a job ended suddenly for me. but after that, the eight of pentacles showed up, saying ‘learn and improve’ which was true cause i took an online course after losing that job. the hermit then felt like a month of soul searching what i really wanted.

so maybe brace for shake-ups but also growth. these cards together felt like a rough but necessary path forward for me.

i’ve noticed The Tower doesn’t always mean disaster. sometimes it’s just a wake-up call. with eight of pentacles next, hard work really pays off in the longer term. hermit suggests time alone to figure things out. maybe you’re on the cusp of a big but manageable change, not total chaos.

I’d look at these cards sequentially:

1) The Tower: Likely indicates a disruptive event or revelation.
2) Eight of Pentacles: Points to sustained effort to rebuild or improve skills.
3) The Hermit: Suggests a period of reflection to gain clarity.

If using this spread for decision-making, check if the reading app explains the reversals or positions. Sometimes, position meanings influence whether these events are external or internal. Also, reviewing the app’s refund policy might be wise if the reading sparked worry rather than guidance.

so from reading these replies i gather The Tower is change or disruption, but not necessarily the end of the world. then the Eight of Pentacles means working hard, and The Hermit means reflecting on things alone? is it common that the hermit card shows you need quiet to understand tough situations? does the order of cards always mean timeline?
